Over the last few weeks we have been developing our art skills. Our theme this half term was to develop and produce some 3D art work. At the moment we are looking at Ancient Egypt so we decided to make some Egyptian bowls. We did this by blowing up some balloons and using paper Mache to cover the balloons. We let them dry and painted them in white paint to seal them. Once they were dry we popped the balloons and cut them in half. We looked at the work of Howard Hodgkin and used some of his ideas to design our own patterns. We then transferred our patterns on to our bowls.

We really enjoyed this activity but we were worried at one point the bowls would not be hard enough but luckily they turned out great and we were very happy with our work.
