Last week, the School Council were invited to the town hall to go and meet the Mayor. We walked there and back. When we got there we were taken to the council chambers where we met the Mayor, the Mayoress, the Deputy Mayor and the Mayor’s helpers. They talked to us about what their jobs are and what they do. We also saw the mase carried by the mase bearer and learnt all about it. We learnt a lot of facts about Kirklees, how big it is, how many people live there and how many schools there are. We got to ask lots of different questions and we have a really good time there!
